Our expert staff has years of experience in elite performance training, strength and conditioning and physical therapy. The staff at Impact Sports Performance and Synapse Physical Therapy have worked with athletes in the NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS, IHL, NCAA and US National teams.

Jamie Heiner, Director of Sports Performance / CSCS, SPARQ

Jamie comes to Impact with a wealth of experience in the sports arena. He played linebacker in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans in 2000 following a career at Northern Colorado. At UNC, Jamie earned 1st Team All-American and 1st Team All-Academic Honors and set records for most career interceptions returned for touchdowns and tackles in a playoff game. He also ranks in UNC's all time top five in several categories including tackles, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries.

Following his playing career, Jamie's passion for working with kids and athletes, combined with his vast knowledge and experience in speed and strength conditioning lead him into the field of sport specific training. His playing career, his knowledge of performance training and his passion for learning and discovering new beneficial ways to train athletes gives him a rare and exciting combination. Jamie has long term goals of working with young student athletes and helping them achieve their goals, both on the field and in the classroom. He strives to instill hard work ethic while creating a fun and energetic training environment. His recent accomplishments include being the strength and conditioning coach for the Colorado Rapids MLS (2006, 2008) as well as the USA Rugby Collegiate All-Americans (2007). 

Jamie is married to his college sweetheart, Kari, and has two children, Casey (5 yrs) and Madison (3 yrs). He loves spending time with his family watching movies, playing at the park, and hanging out with friends.

Michael, a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, brings over 13 years of experience in the field of sports medicine and rehabilitation to Impact Sports.  As part of the Impact Team, Michael will provide sports performance training, rehabilitation as well as marketing.  A native of Chicago, Michael has been fortunate to work with all levels of athletes from the weekend warrior to professional athletes.  Most recently he served as a Clinical Athletic Trainer at a Boulder sports medicine clinic.  Prior to this he was an Athletic Trainer with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL for 6 years, additionally he has worked with teams from the NBA, MLB, MLS and NFL.  He continues to work with the US Rugby and US Soccer national teams. 

Michael has been active with legislation in the athletic training profession.  He also teaches courses in anatomy and rehabilitation throughout the country.  Michael received a B.S. degree in Athletic Training from Southern Illinois University and a M.S. degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology from the University of Illinois. 

Michael and his wife Amy reside in Denver and enjoy spending their free time playing golf, tennis and hiking.  He also is a volunteer at The Denver Children’s Hospital.

Chris Ringenberg, Director of Business Development

Chris oversees the daily business operations of Impact Sports Performance including accounting, finance, marketing and business development.  After earning dual degrees in Economics and Business Administration at Southern Methodist University in Dallas he began his career at a big 4 consulting firm.  He specialized in Business Process Management in Financial Services.  Finding out the he had a passion for small business and business coaching Chris started his own consulting company in 2002.  For the past 10 years, Chris has worked with numerous companies within many industries including real estate, food distribution, and health care.  In 2006 after consulting with Impact since its inception, Chris took on a larger role of Director of Business Development.

Outside of Impact, Chris enjoys golfing, traveling with his wife Monica, and is an avid Denver Nuggets fan.

 

Dan Soderlind, Performance Coach, ATC

Dan comes to Impact Sports as a Certified Athletic Trainer and in pursuit of a strength and conditioning certification.  After being the first intern ever at Impact, Dan rejoins the team following time spent working with many sports teams including the USA Rugby team at the World Cup in France. 

Dan finished his schooling at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse, with an emphasis in exercise and sport science.  He brings a wealth of endurance sports experience to Impact being an expert level mountain bike, cross-country ski and road bike racer. 

As a new immigrant to Colorado, Dan grew up in Minnesota playing baseball, hockey and skiing, but spent most of his off seasons cycling, camping and kayaking.

Away from Impact, Dan spends his time hiking, playing music and as an active member of the Eldora Mountain Ski Patrol. 

Rylan Reed, Performance Coach

Rylan comes to Impact with a strong athletic background and a wealth of coaching experience.  He is a recent graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver with a BA in Exercise Science.  In highschool, Rylan was a three sport varsity athlete (football, basketball, baseball)earning All-conference and All-State awards in baseball and football.  After high school, Rylan went on to play middle infield at Otero Junior College and Mesa State College.

Rylan is currently an assistant high school baseball coach and is in pursuit of a certification in strength and conditioning.  He really enjoys working with young athletes and pushing them to the peak of their athletic potential.

Outside of Impact, Rylan enjoys hiking, fly fishing and camping.  He met his wife in college at MSC and they have two children together; Payton(3) and Dane(1).

Kristen Thomas, Front Office Manager

Kristen is a recent graduate of Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion & Fitness.  After graduation she moved to Colorado to pursue her future, and completed an internship in Highlands Ranch as a Performance Coach, as well as running the front desk everyday operations.

Kristen has always been very active in sports, and played 3 sports during her high school career - Field Hockey, Basketball and Golf.  She also received several awards for her activities in Field Hockey and Golf.  Unfortunately due to a car accident, she was unable to play Field Hockey in College.
While in college Kristen worked at the Keene State College gymnasium as a Personal Trainer in her senior year.

In her spare time you might find Kristen hiking, snowboarding, playing golf, or just hanging around outside enjoying the sunshine.  She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Brandon Harper, Hitting/Fielding/Throwing Insructor

Brandon Harper joins the Impact staff after training under Jamie Heiner for the past two years.  Brandon attended the College of the Southwest before moving on to Dallas Baptist University for his sophomore and junior season.  While at Dallas Baptist he was the starting catcher and was named  2nd Team NAIA All-American his junior year.  Following his junior year he was drafted by the Florida Marlins and spent six years in the farm system.  Spent two years in the Detroit Tigers organization, before moving on to the Washington Nationals organization.  Highlight of career was being called up to the Major Leagues during the 2006 season.   Brandon looks forward to sharing his expertise in the areas of hitting, catching and fielding. 

Brandon resides in Broomfield with his wife Joanna and daughter Hope.  They are expecting a baby girl in January.

Geoff Golden, Basketball Skills Instructor/Trainer

Impact Sports is very please to join forces with Coach Geoff Golden. Geoff has been involved in basketball player development of both amatuer and professional athletes for the past 11 years.  Coach Golden gets tremendous satisfaction from helping an athlete to help themselves by providing techniques and tools, motivation and inspiration along with an education on work ethic and self-discipline that will assist each athlete in reaching all of their basketball dreams!!!

     Over the past 11 years Geoff has had the opportunity to work individually with hundreds of basketball athletes of all ages and abilities while also having the privilege to work as a lead instructor and camp clinician for numerous high profile basketball camps and clinics across the country.

     Over the past few basketball seasons Geoff has also had the opportunity to provide his services to some outstanding organizations and programs in the state of Colorado.  Most recently serving as the player development coach for the Colorado 14er's of the NBA Development League.  During the 2007-08 season Geoff was fortunate enough to work with four D-League All-Stars three of which earned NBA call-ups during the year.  Prior to the 14ers's Geoff spent 4 years on the high school level working as an assistant coach/player development.  Serving two seasons at Legacy High School and two seasons at Broomfield High School.  

     As a player Geoff was an undersized overachieving point guard from Durant, Oklahoma.  He finished his high school career as a two-time All-State selection, led the state in scoring and free throw percentage and  was ranked the top point guard prospect in the state his senior year.  He went on to play Division 1 basketball at Texas State University where the Bobcats were the 1997 Southland Conference Champions and earned a bid to participate in the 1997 NCAA Tournament.

Brett Fetterly, Front Office / Marketing

Brett Fetterly has been apart of Impact for about three years now.  He graduated from Cornerstone Christian Academy and is currently a student at Regis University where he plays basketball.  Brett has a wide variety of experience at Impact.  Not only has Brett trained at Impact, he has rehabbed with Synapse Physical Therapy twice, served as an intern, worked at the front desk, and has also worked in the marketing department.  Brett is seriously considering pursuing a career in athletic training or possibly sports medicine.

In his spare time, Brett enjoys getting out on the lake wakeboarding and pulling off big air, including 360’s!

Jane Houck, Nutrition Counseling / MS, RD

Jane is a registered dietitian with over 20 years of experience in nutrition counseling.  In addition she has a Masters of Science in Nutrition with a specialty in sports nutrition.  She has worked with athletes of all levels from Olympic class to amateur.  She has worked in hospitals, wellness centers, eating disorder clinics, health clubs, sports medicine centers and Universities.

Ms. Houck’s experience includes counseling clients in all types of modified diets including weight loss, heart disease and nutrition for sport.  She has taught numerous classes on weight management and nutrition for athletes.  On a personal note Jane is a wife and a mother of three ranging in age from 16 – 11, who participate in competitive basketball and swimming and train at Impact.   In her free time she enjoys training and competing in triathlon and running events.

Paul Faust, Pitching Instructor

Paul Faust has been coaching pitchers for over two years, both privately and as staff pitching coach for Faith Christian High School. He pitched for a year at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, where he was trained by former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Randy Tomlin. After graduating from Liberty in May of 2004 with B.S. degrees in English and Biblical Studies, Paul began teaching Bible at Faith Christian Middle School, and coaching both baseball and football. As of August 2006 he will be taching Bible at the high school level at Faith, while continuing to coach pitchers at both Faith and Impact Sports.

Paul was married June 11, 2006 to his beautiful wife, Jenn, with whom he enjoys hiking, backpacking, camping, and helping with various church youth ministries. When he is not coaching pitchers or teaching, Paul enjoys writing and mountain biking.

 

Synapse Physical Therapy Staff:

Jeff  brings a fun & energetic personality to Synapse Physical Therapy.  He earned his degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from the University of Northern Colorado.  He also holds a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at Regis University. 

Jeff has been working as a Physical Therapist  for over 11 years.  He loves training athletes, especially baseball players and finds it very rewarding in getting people back to their activities.

Matt Sprague, Physical Therapist / DPT

Matt decided to become a Physical Therapist after having physical therapy for sports injuries in high school.  He went to Ohio State, earning a degree in Exercise Physiology, and graduated at Regis University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Matt’s particular interest is in treating foot and ankle injuries.  He has treated professional and collegiate dancers, baseball players, runners, and hockey players.  Matt enjoys designing individualized programs created specifically for injuries.

Lauri Krysl, Receptionist

Lauri attended the University of NE-Lincoln & the University of CO-Boulder, graduating with a degree in Sociology and Psychology.  She loves meeting people and working on the computer and so her position at Synapse Physical Therapy is a perfect fit.

Lauri has worked in the Jefferson County School District and in a retirement facility.  she currently has 2 children attending CU.  In her free time, she likes hiking, biking on trails & Starbucks.  She also shops and cleans for an elderly couple so that they can stay independent for a longer period of time.

Nicole Schaer, PT Aid / Training Assistant / ACE

Nicole Schaer traveled through Europe as a competitive skier.   Nicole comes to us with an ACE(American Council on Exercise)  certification for personal training from Heritage College.  She interned with Impact Sports last summer and continues to teach performance classes and provide personal training with Impact Sports .  Nicole hopes to gain more knowledge in this field and wants to continue her education to eventually become an athletic trainer.  She enjoys working with and helping people.
